PICTURED: Boy, 17, who was stabbed to death after ‘machete street brawl’ in east London

The fatal stabbing of Shae Gordon on 4 September occurred the same day as the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Maximillian Kusi-Owusu on Kensington High Street.

London had already been experiencing a deadly summer, with 11 murders in August casting doubt over Mayor of London Sadiq Khan’s Violent Crime Task Force.

Of the eleven murders, six of them involved stabbings, most notably Thomas O’Halloran, 87, who was stabbed in his mobility scooter. The youngest victim, Deshaun James Tuitt, was aged 15.

London’s murder victims in August 2022:

August 4

Deshaun James Tuitt, 15, was stabbed in Highbury Fields, Islington, shortly before 9pm.

August 6

Ghulam Sadiq, 18, was stabbed in High Road, Leytonstone, Waltham Forest, at around 2.15pm.

August 7

Abdul Rahman, 59, found dead in Station Road, South Norwood, at around 5.43am.

August 13

Kacey Boothe, 25, shot in Forest Rise, Walthamstow, Waltham Forest, at around 9.30pm.

August 14

Stephen Goodman, 60, injured during a fight at the junction of Ford Road and Broad Street in Dagenham at around 12.06am.

Sonny Booty, 36, was found dead at a home in Loampit Vale, Lewisham, shortly after 9am.

August 15

Il Sung, 58, was stabbed at a Korean restaurant in Poland Street, Soho, at around 11.40am.

Aziza Bennis, 58, was found stabbed after police were called to a disturbance in Boddington Gardens, Acton, Ealing, at around 3.37pm.

August 16

Thomas O’Halloran, 87, stabbed in Western Avenue, Greenford, Ealing, shortly before 4.06pm.

August 25

Man, 56, found dead after a fire at a flat on Gilbert Street, Stratford, Newham, at around 10am.

August 29

Takayo Nembhard, 21, was stabbed in Ladbroke Grove under the Westway flyover at around 8pm on the final day of the Notting Hill Carnival.
