Every Man Needs A Polo Shirt In Summer – Today’s Style
When it comes to dressing with a bit of a sharper edge and a t-shirt won’t cut it but you don’t want to wear a button up shirt, the polo shirt is the item of clothing to pull out your wardrobe.
I have amassed a few polo shirts over the years, and I got this navy polo shirt by Lacoste last summer
When it comes to polo shirt brands, Lacoste is right up there with the best of them. I’ve had several over the years, but these days I have three from the brand in my collection: A red one, dark gray and this the latest, navy blue.
When it comes to wearing a polo shirt, I usually wear it on its own with a pair of jeans or chinos.
They are fine to wear on their own, but they can pose a bit of a problem when you want to throw a jacket over them.
Many people will wear a blazer with them, but I think that you shouldn’t wear a polo shirt with a blazer. The 3 button placket is quite casual and I don’t think it looks good with a blazer. It’s almost like you’re saying it’s too casual for a suit but too smart for a casual jacket.
If I had to wear a jacket with this, I’d go with a denim jacket or a cotton bomber. Wearing a plain style in one of these will keep the outfit looking smart casual, and fits within this style perfectly.
For me, Lacoste polo shirts are worth the money. They are expensive in the realm of cheap fashion, but when it comes to traditional polo shirt brands, they’re priced competitively.
There’s also a lot of offers on Lacoste if you shop around, so if you find a good offer you should jump in and grab yourself one.
I have paired this polo with a pair of my Nudie Selvedge jeans in indigo blue which I think goes well with the top.
I may get myself another in the future. I have already mentioned the colors I have got, and I will have to have a good look at other colors to see what I like the look of.
There’s several other blues which look really nice, white is a nice fresh clean color and black is an option too.
This is my style for the day which works in summer no matter what the temperatures are outside.
Have a good weekend 🙂
