The Block’s Dylan and Jenny have made history as the first tradie couple to star on the renovation show.

Dylan and Jenny, who are contestants on the upcoming series, are the first carpenter couple to ever appear on the hit reality show.

Jenny, 25, said she hopes her appearance on the show will challenge gender stereotypes by showing young girls the building industry is a great career choice.

She told 9Now on Thursday she aims to ‘show all the girls how it’s done’.

Jenny added her glamorous appearance may even give them a strategic advantage against other couples.

‘People will underestimate me because I do love to glam up, put my makeup on, do my hair… but during the week, I’m a tradie lady,’ she said.

The new series of The Block premieres on Channel Nine on Sunday August 7 and shakes up its formula by dropping its city slicker contestants into a rural setting.

This comes shortly after Scott Cam came out swinging against two contestants who sensationally quit the new season after two days.

Fashion influencer Elle Ferguson and her footy star fiance Joel Patfull pulled out of the competition just 48 hours into filming.

‘We had a 48-hour challenge to choose the house that you get and they scarpered. It’s something that’s never happened before,’ Scott told TV Tonight.

‘Forty-five thousand people applied to be on The Block and win life-changing money. These guys got on and they just couldn’t handle the pace which to me is a bit un-Australian.’
