‘I just couldn’t. It was so miserable. My boss was so mean,’ she added.

‘I turned my car on, and it was in the olden days when you had a key. I turned it and I put it into first and I drove away,’ she added.

Asked by her co-stars if she regretted her exit, Chrissie said no, and added that she would never encourage her children to ‘stick it out’ at a bad job.

“This is probably bad parenting, but I would say, “Life is too short to make sandwiches with an angry woman for ungrateful people,” she said.

It comes after Chrissie denied crediting her dramatic weight loss transformation to quitting alcohol.

The radio presenter has previously spoken about giving up alcohol and going on daily 10km walks to improve her physical and mental health during lockdown.

‘You say one thing and then all of a sudden you’re the poster girl for that thing,’ she said on The Weekend Briefing podcast.

‘I very carefully said, “I drank too much in lockdown and it wasn’t very good for my mental health, my anxiety was through the roof, so I gave it up and it’s been a great decision for me”,’ she explained .

Chrissie went on to say her comments were ‘misconstrued’.

She continued: ‘I never said that, I never ever talked about my body. I won’t be talking about my body. My body is utterly irrelevant.’
