What is this website all about?

So, you stumbled upon my website and you are probably thinking to yourself, “What the hell is this site about anyway?”

Well, I’ve been in the carpet cleaning business for years and let’s just say that I’ve learned a few things over my tenure.  One truth that always seems to hold true is that your carpet cleaning results are highly dependent upon the type of equipment used and the expertise of the person using it.

I really do get tired of all those “posers” out there who purchase some used carpet cleaning equipment from someone who went into business and got in over their head.  They swoop in and buy the equipment dirt cheap (I guess I can’t fault em for scoring a great deal…), but many have now clue how to actually use their new found equipment properly.

Often, these opportunity seekers try running a carpet cleaning business during their free time.  They feel that they can make some extra money on the side (again, I don’t blame them for being an entrepreneur), but the problem is that they almost never seem to invest in their own education.  Just because you own a truck-mounted carpet cleaning rig doesn’t mean you know what you are doing.

This often leads to dissatisfied customers and gives our industry a bad name.  I’m fed up with constantly having to prove to customers that I’m not like the last guy that literally took them to the cleaners and disappeared after “completing” the job.  Sometimes I wish carpet cleaning was a licensed profession.  Of course, you can distinguish yourself by joining the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI).  Unfortunately, most consumers don’t even know of the various distinctions available in the carpet care industry.

So, with that being said, I hope to dispel some of the misinformation out there on the web in regards to carpet cleaning.  It is my aim to create a resource for those who are looking for information on carpet cleaning.  I’ll also try to discuss some of the equipment used, the pros and cons, and what to look for in a reputable carpet cleaning company.  I’ll even give some shout outs to those companies that I personally have worked with and those that I’ve met at various conventions and trade shows who share the same passion for the industry.

Feel free to check in from time to time to see what updates I’ve got for you.  No promises and please try not to be too judgmental as this is definitely my first foray into creating what I hope someday becomes an authority blog on all things carpet cleaning.
